Ingredients for Cooking Cabbage with Rice
- Fresh cabbage (white) 400 gr.
- Potato 900 gr.

- Tomato sauce 4 tablespoons

Cooking cabbage with rice:
Step 1: take the potatoes.We choose a flat, without visible damage to the cabbage potato medium size. Thoroughly rinse it under running cold running water with a vegetable brush. Next, with a sharp knife gently we clean rinse it off thoroughly. Then, cut the peeled potatoes with a knife on a cutting board into cubes approximately 1.5x1.5. After that, put the diced potatoes in a pot of boiling water (about 3.5 liters of water) and cook it on average fire 15 minutesstirring occasionally with a tablespoon.
Step 2: take the carrots.
Step 3: take onions.We take onions and peel them with a knife. Then, rinse it thoroughly under cold water. Next, on a cutting board finely grind onion with a knife.
Step 4: fry the vegetables.
Step 5: take the cabbage.We take a small fresh head of cabbage, thoroughly rinse it under cold water. Next, cut it in half with a knife on a cutting board and carefully cut the stump and finely chop cabbage with a knife.
Step 6: Cook the ingredients.We take a colander (or sieve) and wash long-grain rice in it under cold water. Add washed rice to the potatoes, which are still cooked on a gas stove and cook after boiling another 10 minutesstirring with a tablespoon. After that, add chopped cabbage and fried onions with carrots in tomato sauce. Then, seasoned peppercorns, caraway seeds, bay leaves, salt everything and mix thoroughly with a tablespoon. Cook mixed ingredients yet 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring with a spoon. Five minutes before the dish is ready, put in the pan finely chopped fresh dill and green onions with a knife on a cutting board. The cabbage with rice is ready!
Step 7: serve the cabbage with rice.We spread the cabbage with rice in plates and serve on the table with hot sour cream. Enjoy your meal!
- - If desired, during cooking, a little granulated sugar (about 1/2 teaspoon) can be added to the cabbage.
- - Also, cabbage with rice can be prepared with any meat (with the addition of 300 - 400 grams of meat, the amount of water must be increased to 4 liters).
