can (16 oz) Old El Paso™ Refried Beans
can (4.5 oz) Old El Paso™ Chopped Green Chiles
cup Old El Paso™ Salsa (mild or medium)
cups cheddar cheese, shredded
blue corn tortilla chips
Preheat oven to 350°F. In a greased deep pie dish, spread the refried beans and then layer on the green chilies.
Mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, and avocado together in a medium bowl. Mix until the avocado is smooth with very few chunks. Layer the avocado mixture on top of the chilies.
Combine the black beans and salsa and spread on top of the avocado layer.
Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 20-30 minutes - until heated through and bubbly.
Decorate the top of the dip with three tortilla chips forming the eyes and nose of the jack-o-lantern. Use sliced olives to form a mouth. Serve hot with remaining blue tortilla chips.

3-Layer Mexican Dip Recipe
This 3-layer Mexican Dip is an easy appetizer or snack for any occasion. Whether you&rsquore having a party or settling in to watch TV, you can enjoy it with your favorite chips.
You can turn this into a 5-layer Mexican dip if you like. In fact, if I&rsquom making it for a lot of people, I&rsquove been known to create a 7-layer dip.
Some of the extra layers can be guacamole, a thick layer of cheese in the middle, ground beef, or sausage. You can also add a layer of these delicious Instant Pot black beans.
I occasionally do that, but for just my husband and me, this is plenty. Sometimes you just need a larger amount of food, but for two people, that isn&rsquot necessary.
Although I like to make this dip with only three layers, I might still throw in a few extra ingredients. It&rsquos fun to add cheese, olives, jalapeños, or other element for even more flavor.
As soon as you put something else on the top, it takes on a whole new dimension. I like a lot of flavor and spice, but not everyone does. So I tone it down a bit when other people might come over.
If you&rsquore having a party, you can make two versions. Or you can have bowls of add-ons so everyone can choose what they want to add.
3-Layer Mexican Dip Ingredients
This dip only has 3 ingredients in the basic version. It&rsquos just refried beans, sour cream, and salsa. I like to use medium salsa because the beans and sour cream balance the slight amount of heat.
You can also add other ingredients to any of the layers. This time, I sprinkled on some shredded cheese and sliced black olives on top.
When I want something even spicier, I add sliced jalapeno peppers.
How to Make 3-Layer Mexican Dip

This recipe is easy. Basically, all you have to do is layer each ingredient in a serving bowl. I prefer to use a clear bowl so people can see what they&rsquore getting.
First, put the beans in the bowl. Smooth them out so the sour cream will have a little nest to rest on.
Next, add the sour cream. Just spoon it directly out of the container and level it out on top.
Finally, add the salsa and whatever else you want on it. I sprinkled some sliced olives and cheese on this one. Or you can leave it alone.

We make this classic 7 Layer Mexican Dip recipe for almost every get together that we have. Between this recipe, Cold Veggie Pizza, and Cowboy Caviar appetizers, it is hard to tell which one we like the best.
But this dip is extremely easy to make and everyone absolute loves it! Not to mention that by using packaged ingredients this appetizer can be made in minutes!

We first began making this recipe for a Cinco de Mayo celebration pot luck at work.
I needed a quick and easy, no-cook recipe. We didn&rsquot have a way to cook anything in our break room and at the time, I didn&rsquot have a crock pot.
So my first thought was to bring chips and dip. However, I wanted to make something a little more extravagant and &lsquohomemade&rsquo.
That is when I began to search for no-bake, party recipes on the internet.
Refried beans is the base to this delicious Mexican dip.
The first thing that I came across was a no-bake chocolate and peanut butter cookies recipe. Although that sounded delicious, I wanted to keep with the Cinco de Mayo theme.
Assembling 7 Layer Mexican Dip
That is when I found the perfect Mexican party, easy to assemble recipe.
7 Layer Mexican Dip is a delicious and flavorful appetizer built with seven levels of classic Mexican ingredients.
Although the ingredients can vary from recipe to recipe, there are always seven layers. And many recipes add additional flavors as toppings.
The basic ingredients include refried beans, taco seasoning, sour cream, avocados (or guacamole), salsa, shredded cheese, and olives.
You can either use guacamole or smashed avocados for this recipe.
Some prefer to add in shredded lettuce or even cooked corn as well.
If you are in a hurry, you can use pre-packaged ingredients and this recipe will be assembled in no time.
I have made this 7 layer Mexican dip several times, some with canned goods, and some using homemade refried beans, salsa, and guacamole.
Either way, everyone loves to dip their tortilla chips in this delicious appetizer!
We use our homemade canned salsa, but any salsa will do!
To Heat or Not to Heat
Because I needed a no-bake recipe, this classic 7 layer Mexican dip was served as a cold appetizer.
However, if you prefer and you have access to an oven, this recipe could also be served warm.
Just heat the dip in an oven safe dish at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is nice and melted.
Although if you do decided to heat it up in the oven, I would recommend adding the lettuce, green onions, and diced tomatoes after the baking process.
Serve this delicious dip with tortilla chips.
Otherwise, you will end up with soft and wilted lettuce and mushy green onions and tomatoes.
Other Possible Ingredients
One of the best parts of this 7 layer Mexican Dip recipe, is that you can add or remove whatever ingredient that you prefer.
If you like it hot, add in some diced jalapenos. Or if you would like a little additional flavor without the heat, add in some green chiles.
Want to make this recipe a little more &lsquobeefy&rsquo? Add in some cooked ground beef that is seasoned with taco dip!
